Teenage girl dies after being starved and tortured by her own parents
16-year-old Natalie Finn has died from emaciation resulting from the cruel actions of her parents, Joseph Michael Finn II and Nicole Marie Finn. The parents, who live in West Des Moines, Polk, Iowa, United States with their children, allegedly locked Natalie, together with her 15-year-old brother and 14-year-old sister, in the house and deprived them of the basic necessities, including food and healthcare.
According to METRO, Joseph Finn and Nicole Finn, allegedly used unreasonable force, torture and cruelty on their children. have been charged to court.
A neighbour alerted the police to the situation of the children 5 months prior, after Natalie begged for food to feed herself and her siblings. They also said the teenager wore the same clothes and gave off a strong smell.
However by the time police eventually responded, it was already too late for Natalie who eventually suffered a cardiac arrest and died in the hospital.
Neighbours described Natalie as sweet and outgoing but said they did not interact much with the family. They also added that Natalie was not enrolled in any school.
Her parents were arrested after Natalie died.
Her mother, Nicole Finn is being held on a on a $2.1 million cash bond at Polk County Jail while her father, Joseph Michael Finn is being held for $1.5m.
